Revisiting Denali

April 11, 2020 By Doug

Since it looks like we won’t have an adventure this year, I’m using the time to go back and revisit some images in the archives – and to use them as a new weekly zoom background!

Only about 1/3 of the visitors to Denali get to actually see the mountain.  When we were there it was foggy and socked in most of the time.  But on the last day, as we were driving back to Fairbanks to head home, we stopped for a quick break and saw this scene.  I live in Colorado, so majestic peaks are part and parcel of a weekend in the mountains, but there’s something different, something special about Alaska.
