Every once in a while there’s a image that you just find cool and can’t put your finger on it. This Scottish cow on the Isle of Skye was munching along side the road. It was raining pretty good, so I had my wife roll down the window and grabbed a couple of quick shots across the inside of the car. I thought the solution to the barbed wire was pretty neat.
Friday Photo – Prague from Prague Castle
I’m often asked about the heritage of my last name – I get guesses from Souix Indian (Lakota) to Hawaiian or Polynesian. In reality, my great-grandfather was born in Prague, Bohemia, now part of the Czech Republic. We had a chance to visit there last year, and it was one of my bucket list trips. The city was essentially untouched by both world wars, and even the weight of communism couldn’t keep the city’s spirit down. This is a view of the city from one of the walls of Prague Castle.
Friday Photo – Remembering what’s important
This week’s Friday Photo is from the island of Iona, off the coast of Scotland. This Celtic cross is outside the Iona Abbey, founded in 563 and the traditional resting place of Macbeth. Life is stressful, working in security is even more so, and it’s important that we keep perspective. Our visit there was one of the most peaceful days I’ve ever had – time to slow down, breathe and just be in one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen.
