This week’s Friday Photo comes from down under. In 2007, we went to Victoria, Australia on vacation. The day we landed we were pretty much zombies, and found a nature preserve right in Melbourne. This guy was curled up in the notch of the tree, and the lines of his face with the wood caught my eye. We saw wild Koala’s later in the trip, but this captive one was the the best picture.
Friday Photo Post, Back to Moab – Lost Tales
This week’s Friday Photo takes us back to Moab, and one of the collection of petroglyphs that can be found in the area. These prehistoric artifacts are under attack by the elements and the ravages of time. Worse, they’re also vulnerable to criminals who deface them for souvenirs or with graffiti. This one, on a wall above a stream, is largely intact, but we’ll never know what the rest of the tale says.
Friday Photo Post – Ghost Ship off Lanai
This week’s photo is from a trip a few years back. There’s an old Liberty ship that ran around off the coast of Lanai in Hawaii. We were there on a slightly misty day, and while the color images are amazing (especially a large panoramic shot), I really like the eerie feeling that you get from the black and white version.
